Italian Sausage Subs
Deli Mini Sub Buns 

Ingredients:

  • Aunt Millie's Deli Mini Sub Buns
  • 1 package of Sweet Italian Sausage, cut into 1" pieces
  • 1 small red bell pepper, slices
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Yield: 8 Sandwiches

Directions:

  1. Preheat broiler to low setting.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and add the sausage pieces to brown for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the bell pepper to the pan and continue to cook another 10 minutes.
  4. Add the marinara sauce to the pan and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Split the mini subs and fill with the sausage and marinara mixture.
  6. Top with two slices of provolone cheese.
  7. Place under broiler for 2-4 minutes, until the cheese melts. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
