Budin with Chorizo and Ham Casserole
Hearth Classic Sesame Hamburger Buns


  • 1 package Aunt Millie's Hearth Classic Sesame Hamburger Buns
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 lb. (8 oz.) chorizo
  • 1 lb. ham, cubed
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 lb. grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 can (12 oz.) evaporated milk
  • 1/2 yellow onion, grated
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3 c. cheddar cheese, grated

Yield: 10 servings


  1. Grease 9" x 13" baking pan with butter. Set aside.
  2. Tear hamburger buns into roughly 1" pieces. Set aside.
  3. Cook chorizo thoroughly, about 10 minutes. Set aside.
  4. Beat eggs, milk, evaporated milk, onion, salt and pepper together. Stir in the cheese. Set aside.
  5. Mix the egg mixture with the bread cubes in a large bowl until bread has absorbed the egg mixture. Stir in the chorizo and ham pieces. Spread into the baking dish.
  6. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for about 60 minutes. Be sure to let the casserole set before removing from pan.
