Omega-3

Omega-3 is an essential fatty acid necessary for the healthy development and functions of our bodies.  Omega-3 is available from several sources, including fish, flax seeds, and algae. When added to bread, the Omega-3 is encapsulated so it can’t be tasted.

There are different types of Omega-3. DHA Omega-3 helps support brain and eye health, and is important throughout life.  It promotes fetal brain and eye development during pregnancy, and improves visual acuity and promotes cognitive performance in children. In adults, DHA helps support cardiovascular heart health and supports brain and eye function.  Maintaining DHA blood levels is associated with less cognitive decline, lowered risk of dementia and lowered risk of age-related macular degeneration.
